  1. Product core introduction
  Flame retardant conveyor belts are special conveyor belts that achieve "fireproof when exposed to fire, self-extinguishing when away from fire, low smoke and low toxicity" by adding flame retardants and anti-static agents to the rubber formula and optimizing the flame retardant performance of the skeleton materials. The core solves the safety hazards caused by sparks generated by friction and material impact on conveyor belts in flammable and explosive scenarios such as coal mines, chemical industry, and metallurgy. It also has the characteristics of "wear-resistant and tear-resistant, anti-static, and compatible with complex working conditions", and is a mandatory compliance device for material transportation in high-risk industries.
  1. Core characteristics
  Good flame retardant performance:Adopting a "halogen flame retardant + inorganic flame retardant" composite formula (such as aluminum hydroxide, decabromodiphenyl ether), oxygen index ≥ 32%, in accordance with the GB/T 10822-2021 "General Purpose Textile Core Flame Retardant Conveyor Belt" standard, vertical burning time ≤ 30 seconds, no smoldering phenomenon; coal mine special models also meet the requirements of MT/T 113-2019 "Coal Mine Flame Retardant Conveyor Belt", in the alcohol lamp burning test, flame burning ≤ 10 seconds, smoke burning ≤ 30 seconds.
  Meet anti-static standards:The rubber layer is内置with conductive carbon black or anti-static agent, the surface resistance of the conveyor belt ≤ 3×10Ω, the volume resistance ≤ 1×10Ω, can quickly release the static electricity generated by friction, avoid the accumulation of static electricity causing sparks, and adapt to scenarios with strong static electricity risk such as underground coal mines and chemical solvent transportation.
  Enhanced wear resistance and impact resistance:The base skeleton of the conveyor belt is made of high-strength polyester canvas (EP), nylon canvas (NN), or flame retardant steel wire rope core (ST), covered with high-wear-resistant flame retardant rubber, tear strength ≥ 28kN/m, wear resistance performance is 25% higher than ordinary flame retardant belts, after 1 million friction tests, the amount of covered rubber wear ≤ 3mm, suitable for the transportation of bulk materials (such as raw coal, ore) in coal mines and metallurgy industries.
  Low smoke and low toxicity design:The smoke density (transparency) during combustion ≥ 70%, the release amount of toxic gases (such as carbon monoxide, hydrogen chloride) ≤ 500ppm, in accordance with the GB/T 2408-2021 "Plastic Determination of burning performance horizontal method and vertical method" low smoke and low toxicity requirements, to reduce the risk of personnel casualties during a fire.
  Multi-scene Adaptability: Divided into "Coal Mine Flame Retardant Belt" and "Universal Flame Retardant Belt" according to the purpose, it can be customized with acid and alkali resistance (pH value 2-12), cold resistance (-40℃-80℃), and high temperature resistance (120℃-200℃), meeting the needs of different high-risk working conditions such as underground coal mines, chemical plant workshops, and metallurgical factory high-temperature areas.
  2. Applicable Scenarios
  Coal Industry: For underground transportation of raw coal, washed coal, and coal gangue, such as transfer in the fully mechanized mining working face, and transportation in the main transport roadway underground, in accordance with MT/T 113-2019 standard, to avoid the risk of gas and coal dust explosion.
  Chemical Industry: For the transportation of materials soaked in solvents (such as ethanol residue, acetone waste), flammable and explosive particles (such as sulfur, phosphate ore powder), and acid and alkali corrosive materials (need to select acid and alkali resistant flame retardant type), suitable for chemical workshop, transfer lines of dangerous goods warehouses.
  Metallurgical Industry: For the transportation of high-temperature coke (180℃-250℃, need to select high-temperature resistant flame retardant type), steel slag (no risk of open fire but need to be anti-static), suitable for the material transportation system of steel mills and coke plants, to avoid high-temperature materials igniting the conveyor belt.
  Grain Processing Industry: For the transportation of flour, starch and other dusty materials that are prone to explosion, anti-static properties can prevent the accumulation of dust static electricity causing an explosion, suitable for the lifting and transportation lines of flour mills and starch mills.
  Waste Treatment Industry: For the transportation of mixed waste before waste incineration (including flammable materials such as plastics, paper), flame retardant performance can avoid the waste of flammable materials in the waste incineration plant igniting the conveyor belt, suitable for the feed transportation system of waste incineration plants.

The more layers, the higher the tensile strength, it is recommended to use 3-5 layers in underground coal mines to enhance impact resistance.

Coal mines need to obtain the "Coal Mine Safety Mark Certificate" (MA mark)

Anti-static performance

Surface resistance ≤ 3 × 10⁸ Ω, volume resistance ≤ 1 × 10⁹ Ω (in accordance with GB/T 30326-2013 standard)

The anti-static performance of coal mine scenes needs to be regularly detected to avoid performance decay.

Rated tensile strength

Fabric core (EP/NN): 100-315kN/m; Steel wire rope core (ST): 200-630kN/m

It is recommended to set the safety factor of coal mine belts at 8-10 times (higher than ordinary belts) to cope with complex tension underground

Delivery speed

The speed in the mine should be ≤2.5m/s to avoid friction and heat generation.

Medium hardness, balanced flame retardancy, abrasion resistance and elasticity, avoid too hard causing cracking.

Smoke density

Minimum light transmission during combustion ≥70% (in accordance with GB/T 10781.1-2021 standard)

Low-smoke design improves visibility during a fire, facilitating evacuation of personnel

Remarks
When selecting high-risk scenarios such as coal mines and chemical industries, manufacturers are required to provide flame retardant performance testing reports and anti-static testing reports. Coal mine belts must have the MA coal safety mark to avoid the use of non compliant products;
2. After long-term use (such as in coal mines for more than 1 year), the content of flame retardants and anti-static agents should be regularly tested. If their performance deteriorates, they should be replaced in a timely manner to prevent safety hazards;
3. The joints of the conveyor belt should be vulcanized with "flame-retardant vulcanized rubber", with a joint strength of ≥ 85% of the base tape strength, and the anti-static performance of the joint should be separately tested to avoid the joint becoming a safety weak point.
